NY SWANA Solid Waste & Recycling Conference

NY SWANA is holding their annual conference, which includes technical programs with presentations on various solid waste and recycling topics. There will also be a trade show with more than 120 exhibitors. LMOP will present "Recent Developments in Financing Options for Landfill Gas to Energy Projects" during the conference. Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's Environmental Trade Fair and Conference

American Gas Association Operations & Engineering Conference

The annual American Gas Association Conference gathers natural gas utilities and transmission companies to discuss a variety of the industry's top issues. This year's theme is Clean and Green Fuel. LMOP's Rachel Goldstein will present on how landfill gas can be a valuable supplemental fuel to natural gas users and highlight the successful partnership that natural gas utilities and transmission companies have formed with landfill gas energy project developers. WasteTech-2009

WasteTech-2009 will target commercial use of non-traditional methane and biomass resources for energy production. Environmental technologies and services related to waste management and recycling will be showcased. Also, panel discussions will address emission reduction strategies, best practices, and key barriers for different methane sources, such as landfill gas. GovEnergy 2009 is an energy workshop and tradeshow designed for federal agencies, local and state governments, and those organizations supporting their energy needs. Topics included in the agenda are incentives from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, implementation of federal requirements for renewable energy, how to finance renewable energy projects, contracting and leasing arrangements, and many other renewable energy-related items.

Methane to Markets Project Expo

Save the Date! Methane to Markets will be soliciting abstracts from Project Network members and delegates to be presented at the next Expo. The 2007 Project Expo's landfill breakout sessions highlighted new developments in estimating landfill methane recovery and lessons learned from landfill methane utilization projects. Participants also discussed technical perspectives on transitioning landfill biogas to beneficial use. Finding carbon finance for landfill methane projects and issues in bringing smaller scale projects to market were also discussed at length.
