International HapMap Project Press Conference
The International HapMap Consortium announces the publication of a comprehensive catalog of human genetic variation at a press conference at the American Society of Human Genetics Annual Convention in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 1:45 p.m.Eastern time.
The International HapMap Project was a three-year project that spanned six countries and involved the work of more than 200 researchers, resulting in a haplotype map - or HapMap - that will help scientists explore the root causes of common diseases and lead to better diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
