The IBM Operating Systems and subsystem software is the operating system that is necesary to operate and support the Central Support Software Development (CSSD) and Technical Computer Data Center's (TCDC) IBM mainframe computers at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center in support of Enroute and Oceanic Operational Field Sites and FAA Support projects.

Purpose of the Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (FAAAMS) paragraph 3.2.2.4, to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures.

The FAA, William J. Hughes Technical Center intends to award a single source contract to IBM Global.

The software is currently being used by the FAA to support their requirements and therefore unable to obtain through any other known source.

IBM Global brings the following essential data experience:

-Original manufacturer of the software, which is proprietary to this company, that is necessary to operate and support the CSSD and the TCDC IBM mainframe computers for the Federal Aviation Administration.

Consequently, IBM Global has the knowledge and capabilities to efficiently support as required by this proposed procurement.

A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. If you're firm does not agree with this single source determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capabilities and experience in providing the above services, the FAA will evaluate this accordingly.
