Mount Rushmore National Memorial Society

Incorporated in 1930, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, educating and celebrating the sculpture and all that it represents while enhancing the visitor experience.

Goals of the Society include building a legacy of stewardship of Mount Rushmore through private philanthropy, volunteer leadership, creation and sale of educational products, and public outreach through partnership with the National Park Service. more...

The Mount Rushmore History Association has supported Education at Mount Rushmore National Memorial since 1993. As a committee of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial Society, our mission is to support and assist the National Park Service with educational, historical and interpretive activities at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. We raise funds for these activities through our membership program, through our three bookstores at the memorial and through our website.

Many Native tribes used this flower to treat headaches. The yellow leaves were also used to produce a yellow dye. The flower blooms at Mount Rushmore from July to September.
