Springfield-Branson TSO Reaches Out to Stranded Soldiers

Transportation Security Officer Sandra Buffalow learned that three soldiers were stranded at Springfield-Branson (Mo.) National Airport recently as they went through the checkpoint.
They had no transportation to their base, Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. Army personnel usually fly directly into a regional airport on the base, but that airport was temporarily closed.
Buffalow, an Army reservist, offered to make the 180-mile round trip drive to Ft. Leonard Wood after completing her shift – which she did. She refused the soldiers' offer to assist with gas, asking them to remember the incident and offer similar assistance if they ever have the opportunity.
