While in Wyoming on temporary duty at Gillette-Campbell County Airport, off-duty Transportation Security Officer Bruce King recently came across a motorcycle accident and provided first aid to the injured rider.

King, a member of TSA's National Deployment Office from St. Petersburg-Clearwater (Fla.) International Airport, pulled to the side of the road to help the motorcyclist, who had not been wearing a helmet. He found a laceration on the back of her neck, applied pressure to the wound with his handkerchief and remained with her until emergency medical technicians arrived.

"TSO King is one of many that is only here for a short time, but makes a big impact while here," said Supervisory TSO Kathleen "Lorrie" Maurer, praising him for a "selfless act."
