4th Annual FTA Drug and Alcohol Program National Conference

NewFTA will be hosting the 4th Annual Drug and Alcohol Program National Conference on April 7 - April 9, 2009.

This free three-day conference will include speakers from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), the Office of the Secretary's Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance (ODAPC), FTA auditors, FTA Drug and Alcohol MIS Program and Newsletter staff, the Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) and professionals from the DOT Drug and Alcohol testing industry (including a Medical Review Officer, Substance Abuse Professional, Urine Collector, Breath Alcohol Technician, and representatives from State DOTs, and both rural and large transit systems). The conference will consist of a number of sessions as well as panel discussions on a variety of current topics and issues.

Additionally, members of the FTA Audit, MIS Team and various subject matter experts will be available throughout the conference to review transit employers' policies, annual MIS reports and will be available to answer regulatory and other questions and provide assistance. All speakers will be available at a scheduled time before or after their sessions to answer your specific questions. Due to their popularity, panel discussions will be included again this year. These facilitated sessions will be moderated to promote best practices sharing and networking opportunities.

Note: The first day of the conference, Tuesday, April 7th, is one all-day session for Beginner Drug and Alcohol Program Managers (DAPM) Training. Only those individuals who are pre-registered and confirmed may attend. The opening remarks and the rest of the sessions begin on Wednesday, April 8th.

On-site conference sign in (conference materials, name tags, etc.) will be available on the second floor of the Convention Center Tuesday, April 7th from 8:00 am - 9:00 am and 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm and on Wednesday, April 8th 7:00 am - 8:30 am.
