Ampere
Pipeline Term
An ampere is a unit used to measure the rate of flow of electrical current. The unit was named after Andre Marie Ampere, a French physicist, for his discoveries in electrodynamics. The ampere unit was first defined as a current that occurs when 1 coulomb of electric charge flows past a given point of an electric circuit in one second and was later defined in terms of the current required to produce a certain amount of force between two wires.
