Journalism Workshops

Welcome to the International Media Training Web site.

Our job is to train and provide technical support for independent media around the world.

For over two decades, the Voice of America—through its parent agencies, the Broadcasting Board of Governors and the International Broadcasting Bureau—has trained thousands of journalists from more than 130 countries.

International radio and television journalists, editors, producers, announcers, engineers and media managers are just some of the people who have benefited from our courses.

We work closely with VOA affiliates—stations around the world that carry VOA programs—frequently conducting programs tailored to their needs.

Our courses cover a wide variety of topics. Recent topics have included:

  • The Role of the Independent Media
  • Ten Basic Problems of TV Stations
  • Writing for Broadcast
  • The Techniques of Talk Radio
  • New Broadcast Technologies
  • Media Management
  • Broadcast Sales and Marketing
