SBA to Give DOT a Green Rating in their Small Busines Procurement Scorecard for FY 2007

OSDBU learned today that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be publishing shortly the Small Business Procurement Scorecard (SBPS) for all agencies reflecting each agency’s contracting accomplishments for FY 2007, and plans and progress for FY 2008.

We are pleased to announce that for the second year in a row, the Department of Transportation will receive a "Green" rating for its Fiscal Year 2007 accomplishments. The first SBPS was published last year and reflected the agencies’ goal achievements and progress made for Fiscal Year 2006.

To achieve a "green" rating, the agency must meet 100% of its small business goal, three socio-economic goals and make progress in the remaining goal. SBA applauded the Department’s strong efforts and accomplishments and added that because DOT has shown an unprecedented commitment to increasing small business contracting opportunities, they rated the department a "green."

The table below presents DOT’s small business goals and actual achievements in awarding contracts to firms in the targeted small business sub-categories.
