calculator Volunteers are an invaluable resource for the Department of Veterans Affairs. It is impossible to calculate the amount of caring and sharing that VAVS volunteers provide to veteran patients. VAVS volunteers are a priceless asset to the Nation's veterans and to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Robley H. Rex
May 2, 1907 - April 28, 2009

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our oldest and most dedicated volunteers. Robley Rex made his ‘dash’ valuable in the many things he did for America’s Veterans. Mr. Rex served the Veterans at the Louisville, Kentucky, VAMC for 23 years, providing over 14,600 hours of service.
