Title Bioavailability and potential effects of mercury and other selected trace metals on

biota in Plow Shop and Grove Pond, Fort Devens, MA

Project Description Objectives of the project are (1) to determine the uptake of total mercury, methyl mercury,

arsenic, cadmium, chromium, and lead by aquatic invertebrates, and transfer of metals to

insectivorous birds at Plow Shop and Grove ponds, (2) to determine if mercury and other trace

metals are being transferred from Plow Shop and Grove ponds to downstream locations, and (3)

determine the chronology of metal deposition to the sediments of the two lakes.
