National Recommended Water Quality Criteria Table

The Agency has published two documents, a poster and a brochure containing previously published 304(a) ambient water quality criteria for aquatic life and human health. EPA is also making an electronic version of the water quality criteria table available on its Web site. These outreach materials reflect current information that has been updated since issuing the 1999 National Recommended Water Quality Criteria Table.
Background
The National Recommended Water Quality Criteria Table: Poster and Brochure are a compilation of all EPA’s current recommended ambient water quality criteria for the protection of aquatic life and human health. In 2002 EPA published revisions to many of the ambient water quality criteria for human health as the National Recommended Water Quality Criteria: 2002 (EPA-822-R-02-047). In 2003, EPA published an additional 15 revised Human Health criteria. The documents distributed under this action include a poster, brochure and an electronic table reflect the compilation of the updated information already published by the Agency in 2002 and 2003. This information is combined into one place for easy reference by interested parties.
How are today’s publications different from the 1999 publication?
Today’s publication includes criteria revisions published in 2002 National Recommended Water Quality Criteria: 2002 table (EPA-822-R-02-047) and 2003 Revised Human Health Water Quality Criteria (EPA-822-F-03-012).
