U.S. Marshals Task Force Capture Violent Fugitive

Memphis, TX – U.S. Marshals Mid-South Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF) capture violent fugitive Eric Littlejohn also known as “Dutch,” while trying to evade officers in West Memphis, Arkansas. Eric Littlejohn was wanted by the Memphis Police Department for Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery and Evading Arrest. Littlejohn was also wanted by the Pontotoc Mississippi Sheriff Office for Fraud.

The MSFTF had been actively searching for Littlejohn, even placing his profile on Crime Stoppers Mid-South Most Wanted. Task Force officers obtained information that Littlejohn was traveling with his girlfriend Cecelia Echols, who is currently employed as a Shelby County Juvenile Court Detention Officer.

The search heated up when MSFTF Task Force Officers learned from family members that Echols had been reported missing. The investigation led Task Force officers to West Memphis where it was believed that Littlejohn and Echols were in the area using Echols’ vehicle. MSFTF Task Officers requested assistance from the West Memphis Police Department who assisted in an intensive search for Echols’ vehicle. Shortly after the search began Task Force Officers spotted fugitive Littlejohn and Echols at a nearby gas station. Echols; who was driving attempted to maneuver her vehicle around responding Task Force Officers in order to avoid capture. As Task Force Officers attempted to arrest Littlejohn, he was attempting to hide a loaded semi-automatic handgun between the seats. Both were arrested without incident or injury.

West Memphis Police also charged Littlejohn with unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Obstruction of Justice. Echols was also charged with Driving on Expired Tags and Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm. Both, Littlejohn and Echols are currently being held at the Crittenden County Arkansas Jail.

U.S. Marshals Task Force members praised the West Memphis Police Department for their assistance in this arrest.
