MDA Assurance Provision (MAP)
Information

MDA is currently implementing the MDA Assurance Provision (MAP) across agency departments, programs, and suppliers in support of evolutionary acquisition and deployment of MDA systems. The MAP, developed in 2004, is a standardized measurable set of quality, safety, and mission assurance requirements applied to all developers and suppliers for mission and safety critical items.

The MAP applies this set of requirements through general engineering; interface, configuration, and risk management; and quality, safety, and management principles needed to achieve mission success throughout the evolutionary acquisition process. It provides MDA with methods to measure, verify, and validate mission success through metric collection, risk assessment, technical evaluations, independent assessments, and the review of tests. The MAP will promote continuous process improvement to reduce costs, improve productivity, and ensure mission success.
