Dial-A-Ride Bus Service
Dial-A-Ride is public transportation for Clay County residents and visitors. This service is to the door, with drivers available to assist the rider between the vehicle and building.
Driver Assistance
If requested, the driver will provide assistance to riders between the vehicle and the entrance of a building. Inform the dispatcher that you need assistance when you make your reservation. If additional help is required beyond the main door, the rider should have a personal care attendant ride along or have someone meet them. The driver will not assist individuals in wheelchairs into buildings that are not accessible (except open the main door). If requested, the driver will assist with two packages per passenger. Companions and Personal Care Attendants are expected to assist the passenger.
Trip Denial
The driver may refuse to give you a ride at locations that are unsafe for either the passenger, driver or vehicle, including areas not cleared of snow.
Passengers who appear disorderly or are considered a safety threat to the driver or other passengers, including those under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol, will be denied a ride.
Personal Care Attendants
A Personal Care Attendant (PCA) is considered a mobility aid and is allowed to ride free. Personal Care Attendants must have the same beginning and ending destination as the passenger. Personal Care Attendants shall remain with the passenger during the complete trip and to/from the building.
Hours of Service
Hours of service are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. All trips must be completed and passengers delivered to their destination by 4:00 p.m. Dial-A-Ride does not run on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day & New Year's Eve Day.
Travel Area
You may ride any place in Clay County. Trips into the Cities of Fargo and West Fargo, North Dakota, will be made to the following locations:
Medical facilities (clinic, hospital, dental, eye care, counseling)
Nursing homes
Senior housing facilities
Senior programs and services
Transfers FREE at the Ground Transportation Center onto Fixed Route Bus Service
Cost to Ride
Exact fare is required - drivers do not give change.
Personal care attendants and children under age 6 ride free with an eligible passenger.
