Task Force Welcomes Brownell and Epstein

At the February 14, 1997, National Task Force on Prevention and Treatment of Obesity meeting, Susan Yanovski, M.D., Task Force executive director, welcomed two members: Kelly Brownell, Ph.D., director, Yale Center for Eating and Weight Disorders and professor of psychology, epidemiology, and public health, Yale University; and Leonard Epstein, Ph.D., professor of psychology, social, and preventive medicine and nutrition, State University of New York at Buffalo.

Drs. Brownell and Epstein replace William Dietz, M.D., Ph.D., director of clinical nutrition, Department of Pediatrics, Tufts-New England Medical Center; and Rena Wing, Ph.D., professor of psychiatry, psychology, and epidemiology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.

Drs. Dietz and Wing are rotating off the Task Force after 5 years of service. Dr. Yanovski presented certificates of appreciation and thanked them at the February meeting for their contribution to the Task Force.
