Lead TSO Paul Altenburg, Burlington (Vt.) International Airport, a winner of the IdeaFactory Detailee Challenge, recently finished a one-month detail with the IdeaFactory team at headquarters. His winning entry, "Getting More Ideas in the Factory,” provides recommendations about how to attract more users to the Web site. While at headquarters, one of his projects was to help develop “We Ask You,” a new feature on the IdeaFactory site that allows senior leaders to post ideas on initiatives under consideration and receive direct feedback from employees. "Working as part of the IdeaFactory team at headquarters has allowed me to see how TSA handles innovation behind the scenes – and I'm impressed," he said. He said a tour of TSA's Freedom Center (Transportation Security Operations Center) was one of the "major highlights" and that the visit provided an opportunity to "see the bigger picture ... how everything is connected." Altenburg (pictured, right) also met with agency leaders, including Security Operations Assistant Administrator Lee Kair. In addition, as a winner of the Evolution Road Show challenge, which involved soliciting input from the field about how Evolution benefits TSA's security mission, Altenburg met with Evolution team members to provide his unique field perspective on sustainment.
