1. Are international students eligible to apply?
No. Because of the limited number of internships, only U.S. citizens are eligible. TOP


2. The program is open to "continuing college juniors and seniors and graduate students." What does "continuing" mean?
Students must be a full-time college junior or senior or graduate student in the fall of 2005. TOP


3. Do I have to be there for the entire eight weeks?
Yes. In order to be considered for the internship, you must be able to work June 13 - August 5, 2005. This period may be extended for up to an additional four weeks, but it cannot be reduced. TOP


4. I will be taking classes this summer. How many hours a week do I have to work?
Scholars are required to work 40 hours per week. If your class schedule will interfere with the normal 8-hour workday, you should not apply. TOP


5. Is housing included?
No. Scholars must secure and pay for their own housing. Upon acceptance, students will be given a list of apartment locators for the DC area. Students will also be given contact information for the other 2005 MLK Scholars in case they are looking for a roommate. TOP


6. How often will I be paid?
MLK Scholars are paid every two weeks. TOP


7. How much will I be paid?
Depending on their qualifications and education level completed, scholars will be paid approximately $11.82 to $20.04 per hour. TOP
