Trucking Security Awards

Grant Awards for Fiscal Year 2009

The FY09 Trucking Security Program (TSP) is primarily focused on the purchase and installation or enhancement of equipment and systems related to tractor and trailer tracking systems. Funding also supports the development of security plans and monitoring and analysis systems and centers. This is the first year the TSP focused on the adoption and implementation of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Voluntary Program of Recommended Security Action Items to enhance the shipment of Highway Security-Sensitive Materials (HSSM).

Of the $7,772,000 available, $2,224,750 is recommended for funding as announced on April 8, 2009.

The following pie chart illustrates the distribution of funding by project type for the FY09 TSP. There are no comparison charts since this was a new focus area in 2009.

ISP: FY09. SAI Implementation 65%. Monitoring/Analysis System 26%. Catastrophic Planning 9%.
