This document answers frequently asked questions about the Javits-Wagner-O’Day (JWOD) Program, a cost-effective way to help people who are blind or have other severe disabilities to achieve greater independence, as it enables many individuals to reduce dependence on Government support and join the ranks of taxpayers. The JWOD Program uses the purchasing power of the Federal Government to buy products and services from participating, community-based nonprofit agencies nationwide dedicated to training and employing individuals with disabilities.
