ORLANDO, Fla. – The Transportation Security Administration has named John J. Daly Jr. as the federal security director (FSD) for both Orlando International Airport and Sanford International Airport.
Most recently, Daly served as a director on the Homeland Security Council staff at the White House. In that capacity he was directly responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of national-level policies relating to cargo, port, maritime and supply chain security, in addition to leading interagency collaboration with Mexico and Canada on infrastructure and security improvements at our land ports of entry.
Daly spent more than half of his 20-year career with the U.S. Coast Guard in the field conducting law enforcement, search and rescue, and national defense missions. He also served as the military aide to the President and as special assistant to the under secretary for Management at the Department of Homeland Security during his distinguished military career.
"With extensive security experience at both the national and field levels, John brings a broad perspective to the position of federal security director," said Lee R. Kair, TSA's assistant administrator for Security Operations.
Daly earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1989; a Master of Business Administration from the College of William & Mary in 2000; and a Master of Arts in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College in 2002.
