Robert L. Woodson Jr. Award

The Robert L. Woodson Jr. Award, established in 2005 by HUD's America's Affordable Communities Initiative, is designed to recognize local governments who aggressively work to reduce regulatory barriers to affordable housing. Award recipients have demonstrated exceptional leadership in alleviating unnecessary, outdated, and duplicative regulations that put the cost of housing out of reach of police officers, firefighters, teachers, returning veterans, and many other hardworking Americans.

The Woodson Award recipient for 2007 is Bowling Green, Kentucky. Their remarkable adventures in affordability are described in the July issue of our Breakthroughs newsletter.
