This page welcomes to the Women’s Interagency HIV Study (WIHS), which was established in August 1993 to investigate the impact of HIV infection on women in the U.S. The core portion of the study includes a detailed and structured interview, physical and gynecologic examinations and laboratory testing. The WIHS is funded by the following government agencies: The National Cancer Institute, The National Center for Research Resources, The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and The National Institute on Drug Abuse.
