Intergenerational Description of Joint Project:

Hi!
 
    My name is Katherine, and I'm becoming an amateur mycologist. I personally think that the fungi in nature inspire a true sense of wonder! What makes these pictures intergenerational is that they were taken on a 'field trip' I pulled my mother out on. To my surprise she really got into it! Now we frequently go out in the late summer and fall and search for amazing mushrooms, she even got me a mushroom encyclopedia for Christmas. So, although most of these stories represent the older generation inspiring the younger, I feel good knowing that I was able to generate a true interest in an aspect of nature that most people ignore. I hope these photos inspire in you the same sense of wonder they inspired in us, and motivate you to go out and find these jewels (or corals) of nature!
