Intergenerational Description of Joint Project:

The senior center and early childhood center teamed up in this special project in an effort to create intergenerational experiences for participants in both centers.  The seniors reminisced about what evoked wonder and awe for them and gathered these items to create a "Sense of Wonder Science Center" for the children.

Celebration of Rachel Carson’s Sense of Wonder:

Many children do not have the same opportunities for exploration of the natural world that was once enjoyed in generations passed.  This was the perfect opportunity for our seniors to share their experiences and awaken a joy and excitement about our natural world and to bring that joy to their classroom.
