The Special Programs Division has significant experience developing training programs to meet the needs of Federal, state, and local government as well as military, business, and industry. Support services and training courses are listed below:

1.) U.S. DOT Motor Carrier Regulatory Safety Compliance Course

Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) Training and Screening Test Technician (STT) Training Materials

  • The Special Programs Division, in partnership with the U. S. DOT Office of the Secretary, offers U.S. DOT Model Courses for purchase through our division office. These Model Courses include both instructor and student handbooks for Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) Training and Screening Test Technician (STT) Training.

5.) Instructional Technology and Curriculum Development

  • Our division utilizes a systematic training development process (Instructional Systems Design – ISD). This process specifies events that occur during the development and delivery of training. This process assures standardized training package (STP’s) are developed for our clients/customers/sponsors. The ISD process consist of five (5) phases:
    • Analysis involves the determination of job performance and training requirements by working closely with subject matter experts and analyzing tasks as well as the target audience;
    • Design involves the development and sequencing of learning objectives, and the identification of instructional methods, media, and testing activities;
    • Development involves the creation of instructional materials (e.g., instructor guide, student guide, lesson plan, media and materials, and student assessment instruments);
    • Delivery involves presenting the course to the target populations (e.g., computer or print self-paced learning modules, distance learning, and instructor-led classroom session;
    • Evaluation activities provide feedback on the effectiveness and quality of the training experience. These activities occur throughout the ISD process and after implementation of training.

Publications Development, Production, and Distribution

  • We also assist in writing, editing, layout, and graphical design for brochures, flyers, and instructional materials to include lesson plans, instructor manuals, participant manuals, overhead transparencies, handouts, electronic presentations, etc.

Conference Planning

  • We assist in site selection for training or professional conferences;
  • Reserve blocks of lodging accommodations for participants or conference attendees;
  • Acquire guest speakers for training/entertainment/educational purposes;
  • Coordinate with hotel or conference center to provide appropriate meeting and visual/audio equipment needs
  • Prepare and mail invitational letters to meeting/training participants;
  • Coordinate, prepare, and organize meeting/training schedules and agendas;
  • Prepare and disseminate meeting/training correspondence;
  • Arrange and coordinate conference calls, logistical, and administrative support for planning purposes;
  • Prepare, produce, and distribute instructional/conference materials;
  • Prepare travel orders for designated travelers (i.e., instructors, conference attendees, course participants);
  • Provide detailed instructions on obtaining airfare, rental vehicles and hotel accommodations at reduced rates (Federal government employees only);
  • Process and expedite reimbursement vouchers for designated travelers;
  • Coordinate/negotiate with hotel contact concerning floor plans, meeting room setup, special equipment needs and availability, and sales/catering functions;
  • Provide on-site support such as course/conference registration, distribution of manuals/name tags, fee collection, database maintenance, participant rosters, and agenda distribution; and,
  • Prepare and disseminate post-meeting/training materials.
