Overview
Kaposia Landing is the site of a former construction/demolition landfill on the bank of the Mississippi River. Never properly capped off, the landfill contained physical hazards, including ground voids and shifting debris. Funded by Minnesota bonding bills in 2004 and 2006, rehabilitation included capping the landfill and stabilizing nearly a mile of Mississippi River shoreline.
Formerly known as Port Crosby, Kaposia Landing sprawls across 87 acres on the west bank of the Mississippi River. An off-leash dog park is available.
Activities: Biking and walking trail on the South Saint Paul Riverfront Trail, pavilion and picnic shelter, picnicking, restrooms, playground, softball field, tennis courts, volleyball, ice skating, dog park.
