Bart Bush - Regional Commissioner, Public Buildings ServiceWilliam B. "Bart" Bush has served as Regional Commissioner for GSA’s Public Buildings Service for the National Capital Region since June 2006. The Public Buildings Service provides a full range of real estate services for federal government agencies. These include real estate acquisition and disposal, property management, construction and repairs, security services, and overall portfolio management. In the agency's National Capital Region (NCR), the real estate portfolio consists of 96 million rentable square feet, comprising 53 million square feet of leased space and 43 million square feet of owned space in Washington, DC and the surrounding metropolitan area. Bart oversees the largest real estate operation in the metro area, encompassing 1400 employees. Annually the NCR produces revenue in excess of $2.5 billion and has underway in various stages of development construction projects exceeding $4 billion. Before joining GSA, Bart served as Deputy Commissioner for Real Property Management & Development for the state of New York. He also served as a member of the Syracuse, NY, Common Council and as economic development director for that city, and worked in the private sector for Dean Witter Reynolds. A graduate of Denison University, he and his wife Connie have five sons and live in Fairfax, VA.
