Ed Edmondson United States Courthouse

The Ed Edmondson U.S. Courthouse is located at 101 North Fifth Street (Fifth & W. Okmulgee) in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Formerly known as the Muskogee Federal Courthouse, it is five stories tall and contains approximately 130,000 square feet. It was completed in 1914, placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, recognized as an Energy Star® qualified building in 2000, and received a preservation award for the renovation work that was done on the facility in April of 2006.

The building was renamed for Ed Edmondson in 2004. Born in 1919 in Muskogee, Edmondson served as an attorney for Muskogee County before being elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1952 and served until 1972. He was the father of Jim Edmondson, a state district judge in Muskogee, and Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson. His brother was former Oklahoma Governor James Edmondson.
