AmeriCorps grants are made in two general categories: “state grants” made either to Governor-appointed state service commissions or to organizations nominated by those commissions; and “national grants” made directly by the Corporation to organizations operating in multiple states, institutions of higher education, and American Indian tribes.
AmeriCorps State Grants
AmeriCorps National Grants
- AmeriCorps National Direct Competitive - New and Recompete: These grants are awarded to organizations that operate in more than one state. A total of $27,087,889 is being awarded in this category for 24 grants to support 7,943 members.
- AmeriCorps National Education Award Program (EAP) - New and Recompete: Under this program, organizations operating in more than one state, or institutions of higher education, receive a small administrative grant—approximately $600 for each full-time member—and most use their own or other resources to cover AmeriCorps members’ living allowance and other program costs. Fifteen grants totaling $2,249,626 will support 8,199 members.
- AmeriCorps Indian Tribes - New and Recompete: The five grants of $2,213,394 in this category will support 104 AmeriCorps members.
- AmeriCorps National Professional Corps - New and Recompete: AmeriCorps Professional Corps program engage AmeriCorps members in service where insufficient numbers of qualified professionals exist to serve critical needs. A total of $1,060,513 awarded for four grants will support 999 AmeriCorps members.
- AmeriCorps National Planning Grants - New and Recompete: These two grants for $100,000 will support the recipient organizations in planning a multi-state AmeriCorps program.
