Program Description
The Rusk County MRC was formed out of the Rusk County Citizen Corps CERT program. Our mission is to assist the Rusk County Medical Community during times of disasters by provides nurses and others trained in medical functions during times when our medical community is overwhelmed. The Rusk County MRC is assigned by the Rusk County Emergency Management the responsibility to set up and care for the medical needs in our Special Needs Shelter during a disaster. Our MRC has already fulfilled this responsible during Hurricane Rita in 2005. Another function of the Rusk County MRC will be in providing additional first aid and CPR training to the Rusk County CERT program and providing disaster medical information to the citizens of Rusk County both in preparation for and during a disaster. The Rusk County MRC consist of Nurses, EMS Personnel, Doctors and other non medical persons who want to help.
