What is Remote Sensing?

Remote sensing is defined on this website as the collection, processing and analysis of data obtained from aircraft- and spacecraft-mounted earth observing systems for the purpose of producing information on the status, condition and change of land, water, and atmospheric resources resulting from natural or anthropogenic processes.

Aerial photography is one of the remote sensing tools used by EPIC. EPIC acquires both historical and current aerial photographs in order to depict the status, condition, and change of sites over time.

Aerial Photos - This page describes photo scale, film type, film format and film season.
