W. Cameron Monica Wheatley, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, announced today that a federal Grand Jury in Bowling Green returned an Indictment charging PHILLIP W. CAMERON, of Livermore, Kentucky, with unlawful possession of a firearm. The Indictment charges that on or about January 26, 2002, Cameron, who is a convicted felon and unlawful user of methamphetamine, was in possession of a 9mm semi-automatic pistol which he had stolen several months earlier. If convicted, the maximum potential statutory penalties are 30 years imprisonment, a $750,000.00 fine, and supervised release for a period of 3 years. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney A.C. McKay Chauvin, and it was investigated by the McLean County Sheriff's Department, the Kentucky State Police, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Cameron
is scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge
on April 24, 2003, at 9:30 a.m., in Owensboro, Kentucky. ### |
