Nashville, TN - April 3, 2002 - Two Lewis County residents, James Malcom "Brother" Davis and Stacey Davis, were arrested on Monday and Tuesday of this week pursuant to separate sealed indictments from the federal grand jury for Middle Tennessee.

James Malcom "Brother" Davis was charged with possession of 42 sticks of stolen dynamite and possession of dynamite by a person under felony indictment. Stacey Davis was named in a six count indictment which alleged that he knowingly received 20 sticks of stolen dynamite; received and possessed explosive materials; possessed equipment, chemicals, products, and materials which may be used to manufacture methamphetamine and knowingly and intentionally manufactured marijuana plants. The indictment also charges that in August of 2001 Stacey Davis unlawfully transported explosive materials across a state line and knowingly transported stolen explosive materials.

DEA Agents and Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputy Charles Crosslin arrested James Malcom "Brother" Davis last Thursday. Stacey Davis was arrested by ATF Agent Wayne Kilday on Monday.

In proceedings in U.S. Magistrate Court on Monday, James Malcom "Brother" Davis was detained without bond pending trial. On Tuesday, Stacey Davis was released on a $50,000 bond.

These indictments stem from an ongoing investigation federal, state and local law enforcement agencies of methamphetamine trafficking and the unlawful use and possession of explosives in southern middle Tennessee
