April 30, 2009 | The House and Senate yesterday both passed a concurrent budget resolution for FY 2010, paving the way for Congress to consider the president’s plan to make Pell Grants an entitlement in exchange for eliminating the bank-based student loan programs and expanding the Direct Loan program to accommodate all institutions.
April 21, 2009 | Implementation of the final rule requiring federal contractors and subcontractors to use the Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify system, which is designed to establish the immigration status of employees, has been delayed for a third time. The new rule, originally set to take effect on Jan. 15, 2009, is now postponed until June 30.
