Tips for Parents, Teens, and KidsCamp Oasis

Camp Oasis. At Camp Oasis, our summer camp program, everyone has Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis -- in fact, it's a requirement to attend! We have camp locations around the United States where you can swim, hike, do arts and crafts, and just hang out with other kids and teens.

For Parents:

Sometimes it can be overwhelming managing your child's education when they are struggling with their health.  Take a look at these articles that can help you make the best of your child's school years.
Going to College?
Starting college is a very exciting time in your life. It is also a time that is full of change. Here's some information to make some of those transitions easier, whether it's moving away from home for the first time or telling your new roommate about your Crohn's or colitis. (Check out the "Taking IBD to School" article above, too!)

The site also has chats, fun quizzes and surveys, and places where you can get more information tailored just for you.

  • CCFA in Your Town: CCFA has chapters around the country, some of which offer special programs for kids and teens. Our chapters also offer educational programs and support groups to help you learn more and share with others.

  • Comeback Kids Awards:  Honors the achievements of children and teenagers living inspirational lives with Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and/or an ostomy. This year, three stand-out young people will be recognized at the national ceremony. One award will be presented to a child or teen with Crohn's disease, one award to a child or teen with ulcerative colitis, and one award to a child or teen with an ostomy or an ostomy alternative (J-pouch).
