Developed after the attacks on September 11, 2001, this brochure is part of an effort to give parents tools to help their children handle crises. The brochure, geared toward African American families and communities, describes ways that parents can help their children to deal with difficult times and to feel safe. Ways to help children cope with crisis, particularly those age 12 and under, include inspiring hope in them, making plans with them for emergencies, and identifying signs of stress in them.
