Southeast Arizona Drought Monitoring

Preliminary April precipitation data will be posted by May 15th

Drought conditions update (as of April 21st) - For the period April 15th through 21st, dry and very warm during the past week. On this weeks National Drought Monitor map, moderate drought (D1) conditions were expanded west across portions southeast Arizona with the remainder of the area being classified as abnormally dry (D0).

Outlook through April 28th. Dry and breezy to windy conditions will prevail during the outlook period. For the latest forecast information, please check out the forecast discussion from NWS Tucson. The next update to drought conditions across southeast Arizona will be during the week of April 28th.

NOTE: Long term drought conditions continue to persist across the region with LARGE multi-year precipitation deficits to overcome.
