WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. Agency for International (USAID), the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an invitation-only luncheon for His Excellency Hamid Karzai, President of the Transitional Islamic State of Afghanistan.
Remarks from President Karzai and U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Donald E. Evans; USAID Administrator Andrew S. Natsios; and Ms. Karen Hughes, member of the U.S.-Afghan Women's Council and former Counselor to The President (U.S. President George W. Bush), will address Afghanistan's remarkable, multi-sector accomplishments driving the new democracy's pro-business environment and economic growth.
The long-term commitment of the U.S. to Afghanistan, signified by the announcement of new USAID programs supporting U.S. business investment and development, will be highlighted.
