Decatur Public Transit System Operation Uplift
All of the busses and trolleys in the DPTS fleet are wheelchair and disabled accessible. However, to better serve the needs of the entire community, the Decatur Public Transit System also provides supplementary, door-to-door van service for the disabled using six wheelchair lift equipped vans. In addition, DPTS also provides subsidized taxi service for the disabled through two local cab companies.
The fare for either a van or subsidized taxi ride under Operation Uplift is $1.50 per person for each one way trip.
For information on qualifications for these services, call DPTS at (217) 424-2821 or inquire at the ticket sales window at the Senator Severns Transit Center, 353 E. William St.
