Remediation & Redevelopment
Mission: Addresses research, development, evaluation, and technical support issues directly related to remediation and development. Our projects and programs have a great degree of interaction with actions taking place in the field under a variety of regulatory and voluntary programs. Efforts have a very strong applied focus with the goal of translating current research results into practical applications for recalcitrant problems and newly identified risks, such as MTBE. We also addresses issues related to long term management and process reliability. Our primary responsibilities are the Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) Program, Brownfields redevelopment, technical support, oil spills research, leading underground storage tanks (LUST) research, and phytoremediation research.SITE
