Computational clusters are becoming the accepted solutions for the ever-growing need for computational power, with more and more disciplines leaning towards computers to solve problems traditionally solved using more expensive means. The major contributing factors for increased cluster usage are the low cost associated with them, when compared to the cost of super-computing power. As an effort to bring these developments to the scientists at the EPA, the AWBERC facility provides access to Beowulf cluster facilities for research use.The NRMRL division has two scientific clusters which are available for running jobs which demand large amounts of computational power. EPA scientists now have the capability of working from their desktops and be able to develop, test, debug and execute their programs on these clusters. Scientists are welcome to have their accounts created on them, so they can submit jobs to be run on these networks.

Knowing how to get around in a Linux environment
is a must, but is not very time-consuming or hard to learn. .
