MARCH 2009 CFP® EXAM STATUS: (Updated May 5)
This week, cut scores will be applied to determine individual examinee results, and final quality control measures will be completed.
Please be sure to review your personal contact information as reflected in your CFP Board account and make any necessary updates. This information will be used to generate official score reports. Please check spelling and capitalization of your name.


PROPOSED TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS TO STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT:On March 30, 2009, CFP Board's Board of Directors issued a request for comments on proposed technical corrections to CFP Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct (Standards). Comments received during the 30-day comment period, which ended April 29, 2009, will be reviewed and considered by the Board of Directors. Read more >


FINANCIAL PLANNING COALITION UPDATE: On April 27, the Coalition released a Case Statement calling for a national financial planning oversight board that would set standards of ethics and competency for financial planners and would establish rules to promote the fiduciary standard of client care when providing financial planning services.

Ethical Standards and Resources:

On May 31, 2007, CFP Board announced the adoption of an updated Standards of Professional Conduct, which sets forth the ethical standards for CFP® professionals. The updated Standards, which have an effective date of July 1, 2008 and an enforcement date of January 1, 2009, were designed to maintain CFP Board's high ethical standards, strengthen them in several important ways, and present the standards in a manner that will be easily understood by CFP® professionals and the public they serve. CFP® CERTIFICANT CONNECTIONS IN ATLANTA, BOSTON, NEW YORK, ORLANDO, PHILADELPHIA AND WASHINGTON, DC
: Join CFP Board during a series of town hall-style meetings. The events will be held in an open format to allow participants to address the topics of most importance to them, and to provide CFP Board’s leadership the chance to connect with the CFP® certificant community. CFP BOARD SEEKS QUALIFIED CANDIDATES FOR 2010 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Nominating Committee of Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board) seeks individuals to serve on CFP Board's Board of Directors beginning in January 2010. Those interested in being considered may obtain more information by reviewing the CFP Board Director Position Description and Candidate Specifications document and completing an aplication form.
