This is a Church World Service (CWS) information and resources web site for persons interested in the ministry of the religious community in disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. The site reports in detail on CWS Emergency Response activity and links to the disaster work of the wider religious community.
Founded in 1946, CWS -- the relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry of 35 Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican denominations in the United States -- works in partnership with indigenous organizations in more than 80 countries. The CWS Emergency Response Program helps the faith community play its special role in disasters in the U.S. and around the world.
