An organization of mothers who have lost a son or daughter in the service of our country, which provides support to these mothers and their families and works with Veterans and other Veteran organizations.

Compassionate Friends

Self-help support organization that offers friendship, understanding and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings.

Coping with Grief & Loss

Provides sources of information on handling grief and bereavement, including coping with loss, loss of a spouse, stages of grief and how to find help to cope with grief.

From the Warfront to the Homefront Foundation Inc.

A referral-based organization that provides assistance to Veterans and their families. Works with other organizations to help with job training, housing, financial, family support and mental health.

Gold Star Family Support

Programs for children, teens and adults that address the needs of those who suffer the loss of a Service Member.

Gold Star Wives of America

Organization of military widows/widowers whose spouses died while on active duty or from service connected disabilities. Services include counseling, financial assistance and help with paying for college, as well as special resources for widows/widowers of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom (OEF and OIF).

United Warrior Survivors Foundation

Peer-to-peer support, survivor transition assistance, emergency aid and financial planning and bereavement counseling for surviving spouses of Navy, Army, Air Force and Marine Corps Special Operations personnel killed in the line of duty since September 11, 2001.

VA Bereavement Counseling

VA offers bereavement counseling to parents, spouses and children of Armed Forces personnel who died in the service of their country. Vet Centers

Centers offer readjustment counseling and outreach services to all Veterans who served in any combat zone and their family for military-related issues. Services include individual counseling, group counseling, marital and family counseling, bereavement counseling, medical referrals, assistance in applying for VA benefits, employment counseling and alcohol/drug assessments. Widowed Information & Consultation Services (WICS)

Provides a supportive environment and service to widowed men and women through their adjustment to the loss of a spouse or partner by death and into their lives as a single person.
