Financing Programs

USAID provides assistance to developing countries to help in preparation of long-term financing plans to improve investments in the health sector through more efficient expenditure and better allocation of resources. This assistance encompasses a variety of options including social insurance programs, managed care programs, fee-for-service and cost sharing, public-private partnerships, private sector development, and introduction of private sector management systems into the government sector, health insurance, and cost recovery programs. In all cases, the goal is to assist public and private health providers in financing reproductive health care services for long-term sustainability.
