This story by Pam Fessler, featured on National Public Radio (NPR) on March 3, 2009, shows how a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) and his friend applied development principles gleaned from Peace Corps experience to help solve economic issues in their hometown community of Wilmington, Ohio.
The two men, RPCV Taylor Stuckert, 23, and Mark Rembert, 24, have worked with the mayor of Wilmington to help declare Clinton County, Ohio the area's first "green enterprise zone." The plan calls for weatherizing thousands of county homes, along with proposing tax incentives for green businesses, as well as plans to create community gardens.
