USAID strongly supports global health activities through a variety of programs in many countries. From 1985 to 2004, USAID provided approximately $22.2 billion in global health assistance to developing countries, making it the largest international donor in this sector in the world. In FY 2007, estimated funding for the sector approached $4.15 billion.
