We
have updated all pages of the site, eliminating dead links and adding new ones. Among the new topics is
National Institutes of Health
Conflict of Interest Information and Resources, which has links to ethics
resources, press releases, memoranda and testimony, and information about the NIH
Blue Ribbon Panel on Conflicts of Interest Policies. The site
has links to
Supplemental Standards of of Ethical Conduct
and Financial Disclosure Requirements for Employees of the Department of Health
and Human Services, the February 3, 2005 Regulation (an interim final
rule with request for comments). We have also added information about
NIH Public Access, a website with
information about the NIH policy on enhancing public access to archived publications
resulting from NIH-funded research. The final policy was issued in February, 2005.
The web site is
undergoing major renovation. We are making every effort possible to
make this site easier to use by making categories more logical and
working on a search engine. Please send any comments or suggestions
on the organization of this site to the webmaster.
With the release
of the new policies
for clinical investigators applying for NIH funding, we have included
more links to resources on ethical issues in human
studies,
the responsible conduct of research,
and tutorials, case studies, and courses.
We are now making
an effort to include a comprehensive list of academic
bioethics centers. The list so far is not complete, check back
for new updates.
Upcoming categories
to be added soon include: minority health, mental health, health privacy
and confidentiality, genetic testing, gene patenting, reproductive
technologies, undergraduate bioethics programs, and student organizations.
